Trench Foot
Trench foot is a medical condition that occurs when feet are exposed to cold, wet conditions for extended periods. It was commonly seen in soldiers during World War I, hence the name. The cold and moisture can damage tissue, cause swelling, and lead to infections. Symptoms include numbness, tingling, and severe pain in the affected areas. If not treated, trench foot can lead to permanent damage or even amputation. Preventive measures include keeping feet dry and warm, and promptly treating any injuries or signs of frostbite.
