Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal

The Tokyo War Crimes Tribunal, officially known as the International Military Tribunal for the Far East (IMTFE), was a court established after World War II to prosecute Japanese leaders for war crimes. Held from 1946 to 1948, it focused on atrocities committed during the war, including acts of aggression and crimes against humanity. Similar to the Nuremberg Trials in Europe, the tribunal aimed to bring justice and accountability for wartime actions. Notable figures, including military leaders and government officials, were tried, and several received death sentences or long prison terms for their roles in the conflict.
