Tobacco Cultivation
Tobacco cultivation involves growing the tobacco plant, primarily for its leaves, which are harvested and processed for products like cigarettes and cigars. The process begins with planting seeds in seedbeds, where seedlings grow for several weeks. Once they are ready, the seedlings are transplanted to fields with specific soil and climate conditions. Farmers tend to the crops, managing pests and nutrient needs. After about 8-16 weeks, the leaves are harvested, often by hand. The harvested leaves are then cured to improve flavor and reduce moisture, before being processed for various tobacco products. This cultivation requires skilled labor and careful management.
