Tides and Currents

Tides are the regular rise and fall of sea levels caused primarily by the gravitational pull of the moon and the sun on Earth. This results in two high tides and two low tides each day. Currents, on the other hand, are continuous, directed movements of seawater, influenced by factors like wind, salinity, temperature, and the Earth's rotation. Tides can impact currents, but currents can also occur independently. Both are crucial for marine navigation, ecosystems, and climate, affecting everything from fishing to weather patterns. Understanding them is essential for various activities along coastlines.
