Thought and Language
"Thought and Language" explores how our thinking is connected to the way we communicate. The Private Language Argument, notably discussed by philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein, suggests that a completely personal language, understood only by one individual, cannot exist meaningfully. This is because language is inherently social; meaning arises from shared experiences and community use. Therefore, our thoughts are influenced and shaped by language. If we can't express thoughts through a common language, they lack the ability to convey meaning to others or even to ourselves fully. Thus, our mental experiences and linguistic expression are intertwined.
