Thoracic pathology
Thoracic pathology refers to diseases and conditions that affect the chest area, which includes the lungs, heart, and surrounding structures. Common issues include pneumonia, which is an infection of the lungs; chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), a progressive breathing disorder; and heart diseases, such as heart attacks. Thoracic pathology can also involve tumors or infections in the chest cavity. Diagnosing these conditions often requires imaging tests like X-rays or CT scans, and treatments can range from medications to surgeries, depending on the severity and type of disease involved.
