Theodora (wife of Michael IV)

Theodora was the wife of Byzantine Emperor Michael IV, who reigned from 1034 to 1041. She came from a noble family and became empress through her marriage to Michael, who was originally a palace official. After Michael's death, she temporarily held power as regent for her brother, Michael V, before being ousted.
