The Williams Review
The Williams Review, commissioned in 2021, examined the effectiveness of the UK's approach to improving road safety. Led by road safety expert Sir Peter Williams, the review assessed current policies and proposed new measures to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on the roads. It focused on identifying key areas for improvement, enhancing driver education, improving vehicle safety standards, and fostering better infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. The goal was to create a safer and more accountable road environment, ultimately aiming to save lives and reduce the impact of road traffic accidents on communities.
