The United Arab Emirates
The United Arab Emirates (UAE) is made up of seven emirates, each ruled by its own monarch. This system is known as an elective monarchy because the rulers of these emirates come together to elect a president and a vice president from among themselves. While each emirate has its own local governance and laws, they collectively form a federal system. The President, traditionally from Abu Dhabi, and the Vice President, usually from Dubai, lead the country. This structure allows for a blend of traditional monarchy and modern governance, fostering stability and development in the region.
