The theory of general relativity

The theory of general relativity, proposed by Einstein, explains how gravity works not as a force between objects, but as a result of curved spacetime caused by mass and energy. Massive objects like planets and stars warp the fabric of space and time around them, and this curvature influences the motion of other objects, which appear to be attracted by gravity. In essence, objects move along the curved paths in spacetime, and this curvature dictates gravitational effects—leading to phenomena such as orbiting planets, light bending around stars, and black holes.
