The Templar Order

The Templar Order, officially known as the Knights Templar, was a medieval military and religious organization founded around 1119 to protect pilgrims traveling to the Holy Land after the First Crusade. They became known for their distinctive white mantles and red crosses. The order gained wealth and power, establishing a network of castles and banking systems across Europe. However, in the early 14th century, political pressures and accusations of heresy led to their rapid downfall, culminating in their dissolution by Pope Clement V in 1312. The Templars have since captured the imagination as symbols of mystery and secrecy.
