The Principle of Equivalence
The Principle of Equivalence, proposed by Albert Einstein, states that the effects of gravity and acceleration are indistinguishable. This means that if you are in a closed room, you cannot tell if the force you feel is due to gravity pulling you down or due to the room accelerating upwards in space. Essentially, it suggests that gravitation can be viewed as a curvature of space caused by mass, leading to the idea that gravity and acceleration are fundamentally the same experience, reshaping our understanding of how objects move in the universe.
