The Pan-African Parliament
The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) is a legislative body of the African Union, established to promote unity and cooperation among African nations. Its main purpose is to allow African representatives to discuss and address continental issues, advocate for human rights, and promote democracy and development across the continent. The Parliament aims to give a voice to African citizens and influence policies that affect their lives, although it currently has limited powers and mainly serves an advisory role. It meets in South Africa and includes representatives from all 55 African Union member states.
