African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) is an agreement among African countries to create a single market for goods and services. It aims to boost trade between member nations by reducing tariffs and removing trade barriers. By facilitating easier access to each other’s markets, AfCFTA hopes to enhance economic growth, create jobs, and promote investment. Launched in 2019, it is the largest free trade area in the world by the number of participating countries, involving 54 of the 55 African Union nations, and represents a significant step towards economic integration in Africa.
