The Lower Paleolithic
The Lower Paleolithic is the earliest part of the Stone Age, lasting from about 2.6 million to around 300,000 years ago. It marks the emergence of early humans, such as Homo habilis and Homo erectus, who began to make and use simple stone tools. This period saw the development of basic hunting and gathering lifestyles, as well as the control of fire. Key discoveries, like the first stone hand axes, illustrate the growing skill and adaptability of early humans. The Lower Paleolithic laid the foundation for later advancements in technology and society in subsequent prehistoric eras.
