"The Iraq Inquiry" (Chilcot Report)

The Iraq Inquiry, commonly known as the Chilcot Report, is a comprehensive investigation into the United Kingdom’s decision to invade Iraq in 2003. Chaired by Sir John Chilcot, it was published in July 2016 and aimed to evaluate the reasons for the war, the decision-making processes, and the impact of the conflict. The report concluded that the invasion was based on flawed intelligence regarding weapons of mass destruction and that the aftermath was poorly planned, leading to significant loss of life and long-term instability in the region. It sought to hold leaders accountable and provide lessons for future military engagements.
