The Developmental Assets Framework
The Developmental Assets Framework is a model that identifies the positive experiences and qualities that help young people grow into healthy, responsible adults. It includes 40 assets divided into two categories: external and internal. External assets are the support, empowerment, boundaries, and expectations a young person receives from their family, school, and community. Internal assets are the personal skills, values, and beliefs that an individual develops. By fostering these assets, communities can promote youth development and resilience, ultimately helping young people succeed in life.
