The Categorical Imperative, introduced by philosopher Immanuel Kant, is a moral principle that suggests that we should act only according to maxims (rules) that we would want to become universal laws. In other words, before you act, consider whether you would want everyone else to act the same way in similar situations. It emphasizes the importance of duty and respect for others, guiding us to make ethical decisions based on reason rather than personal desires. Essentially, it asks us to think about the broader impact of our actions on society and humanity as a whole.
