The Bobo Doll Experiment
The Bobo Doll Experiment, conducted by psychologist Albert Bandura in the early 1960s, studied children's behavior modeling. In the experiment, children watched adults interact with an inflatable clown called Bobo. Some adults were aggressive, hitting and kicking the doll, while others displayed non-aggressive behavior. Later, when the children were observed playing, those who had seen the aggressive adults were more likely to imitate that violent behavior. This experiment highlighted the concept of social learning, demonstrating that children learn behaviors by observing others, reinforcing the idea that media and environment can influence behavior.
