TEE (transesophageal echocardiography)

Transesophageal echocardiography (TEE) is a medical imaging technique used to get detailed images of the heart. Unlike regular echocardiograms that use a probe on the chest, TEE involves inserting a thin, flexible tube with a camera down the throat into the esophagus, which is close to the heart. This allows for clearer and more precise views of the heart’s structures and functions, especially in cases where traditional methods may not provide enough information. TEE is often used during heart surgeries and to diagnose certain heart conditions.
