TaqMan
TaqMan is a laboratory technique used to detect and measure specific DNA sequences. It employs a special probe labeled with a fluorescent dye that binds to the target DNA during the process. When the DNA is amplified (copied many times), the probe is broken apart, releasing the fluorescent dye. This fluorescence signal increases proportionally with the amount of target DNA present, allowing scientists to quantify how much of a specific genetic material is in a sample. TaqMan is commonly used in genetic testing, disease diagnosis, and research to accurately analyze DNA sequences.
