Sword Beach

Sword Beach was one of the five beaches targeted during the Allied invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, known as D-Day. Located along the northern coast of France, it was tasked primarily with capturing key ports and facilitating further invasion efforts. British and Allied forces faced strong German defenses but ultimately secured the area, allowing reinforcements and supplies to flow in. Sword Beach played a crucial role in establishing a foothold in Western Europe, marking a turning point in World War II and beginning the process of liberating occupied territories.
