Surendranath Banerjee
Surendranath Banerjee was an Indian educator and political leader active during British rule in India. He co-founded the Indian National Association in 1876, advocating for Indians' political rights and self-governance. Banerjee worked to unite Indians across different regions and communities, promoting education and active participation in politics. Often called the "Father of Indian Politics," he played a key role in early efforts toward independence, emphasizing political awareness and reform through constitutional methods rather than protests. His leadership laid foundational ideas for later, more widespread movements toward independence.
