Sumatran tiger

The Sumatran tiger is a critically endangered subspecies of tiger found only on the Indonesian island of Sumatra. It is smaller and darker than other tiger subspecies, with distinctive black stripes against a reddish-orange coat. These tigers primarily inhabit tropical forests and play a vital role in their ecosystem as apex predators. Unfortunately, their population is declining due to habitat loss, poaching, and human-wildlife conflict. Conservation efforts are underway to protect their remaining habitats and ensure their survival in the wild. As of now, the Sumatran tiger is one of the most at-risk big cat species.
