Stormont Assembly
The Stormont Assembly is the devolved parliament for Northern Ireland, located at Stormont Estate in Belfast. Established in 1998 as part of the Good Friday Agreement, it has the power to make decisions on local issues like health, education, and justice. The assembly consists of 90 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), who represent various political parties. Stormont's framework is designed to ensure power-sharing between different communities, particularly between unionists and nationalists, fostering cooperation and reconciliation in a region historically marked by conflict.
