Stent thrombosis

Stent thrombosis is a serious condition where a blood clot forms inside a stent—a tiny tube placed in a narrowed artery to keep it open after a heart procedure. This clot can block blood flow, leading to a heart attack. It may occur soon after the procedure (early) or months/years later (late or very late). Factors like incomplete healing, medication issues, or patient health can increase risk. Managing stent thrombosis requires prompt medical treatment to restore blood flow and reduce heart damage.
