Statute Law

Statute law refers to laws that are written and enacted by a legislative body, such as Parliament or Congress. These laws are formally documented and are known as statutes. They cover a wide range of issues, from criminal behavior to business regulations. Unlike common law, which is developed through court decisions, statute law is created through a defined legislative process, including proposal, debate, and approval. Once passed, these laws must be followed by everyone in the jurisdiction they apply to, and they can be amended or repealed through the same legislative process if necessary.
