Statute

A statute is a formal written law enacted by a legislative body, such as a parliament or congress. It is created to regulate specific activities, address social issues, or establish rules and standards within a jurisdiction. Statutes are written in legal language and are published for public knowledge. They must be followed by individuals and organizations, and violations can lead to legal consequences. Unlike regulations or policies, which can be established by agencies, statutes require a more rigorous process, usually involving debate, amendment, and approval by elected representatives.
