Stalinism
Stalinism refers to the political system and policies implemented by Joseph Stalin in the Soviet Union from the late 1920s until his death in 1953. It is characterized by a centralization of power, state control of the economy through collectivization, and the suppression of dissent. While rooted in Marxist socialism, Stalinism emphasized rapid industrialization and the idea of "socialism in one country." This often resulted in authoritarian rule, widespread purges of perceived enemies, and severe repression. Ultimately, Stalinism aimed to maintain a powerful, unified state while pursuing the goals of socialist transformation.
