Sri Lankan Kingdoms

Sri Lanka, a beautiful island nation, has a rich history marked by ancient kingdoms. Notable among them are the Anuradhapura and Polonnaruwa kingdoms, which thrived from the 3rd century BCE to the 13th century CE. These kingdoms flourished in art, architecture, and Buddhism, evident in their magnificent stupas and intricate carvings. The Kandy Kingdom, established in the 15th century, was the last stronghold against colonial powers. Sri Lanka's kingdoms contributed to its cultural heritage, influencing its language, religion, and social structures, shaping the distinct identity that persists today.
