Sooners

Sooners refers to individuals who illegally entered the unclaimed lands of Oklahoma before the official opening date set by the U.S. government in 1889. On April 22 of that year, thousands rushed to stake their claims in a land rush, but Sooners had already slipped in to claim the best parcels ahead of time. The term has since evolved to represent those who are eager or too eager to act, often in a competitive scenario. Oklahoma's history is deeply tied to this event, which played a crucial role in shaping the state and its identity.
