Somaliland

Somaliland is a region in the northern part of Somalia that declared independence in 1991 after Somalia's civil war, aiming for stability and self-governance. It has its own government, currency, and security forces, functioning as a de facto independent state. However, it is not internationally recognized as a separate country and is considered by most countries and the United Nations as an integral part of Somalia. Despite this, Somaliland has managed to establish relatively stable institutions and a functioning economy, striving for international recognition and sovereignty.
