Slugging percentage is a baseball statistic that measures a player's power-hitting ability. It calculates the total number of bases a player earns from hits, divided by their total at-bats. Unlike batting average, which only counts hits, slugging considers the value of each hit: a single counts as one base, a double as two, a triple as three, and a home run as four.
