Slugging percentage formula

Slugging percentage (SLG) measures a baseball hitter's power by calculating the average number of total bases earned per at-bat. The formula is: (Total Bases) / (At-Bats). Total bases are counted by assigning 1 for a single, 2 for a double, 3 for a triple, and 4 for a home run. For example, if a player has 50 at-bats and earns 70 total bases across all hits, their SLG is 70 divided by 50, which equals 1.40. A higher SLG indicates more effective hitting and greater ability to hit for power.
