Skellig Michael is a rugged island off the coast of County Kerry, Ireland, known for its dramatic cliffs and ancient monastic ruins. It was home to a small Christian community between the 6th and 8th centuries. The island features a well-preserved monastery with stone beehive huts and steps carved into the rock. Skellig Michael is also famous for its diverse birdlife, particularly puffins. In recent years, it gained popularity as a filming location for the "Star Wars" franchise.
