Sir Edmund Hillary

Sir Edmund Hillary was a New Zealand mountaineer, explorer, and philanthropist, best known for being one of the first two individuals, alongside Tenzing Norgay, to successfully reach the summit of Mount Everest on May 29, 1953. This monumental achievement made them global heroes and inspired many in the fields of adventure and exploration. Beyond his climbing feats, Hillary dedicated much of his life to helping the people of Nepal, establishing schools and hospitals in the region, and advocating for their welfare.
