Simon Commission
The Simon Commission was a group formed by the British government in 1927 to review India's political reforms and recommend changes to its governance. At the time, India was under British rule, but Indians wanted greater self-rule. The Commission did not include any Indians, which sparked widespread protests and opposition, as Indians felt their views and aspirations were being ignored. This opposition helped strengthen the demand for independence and eventually led to significant political changes. The commission's failure highlighted the need for Indian participation in decision-making about their future.
