
Shea Stadium
Shea Stadium was a multi-purpose sports arena located in Queens, New York, opened in 1964 and primarily known as the home of Major League Baseball's New York Mets and the National Football League's New York Jets. It hosted numerous significant events, including the 1969 World Series and concert performances by famous artists. The stadium was notable for its distinctive design and numerous renovations over the years. It closed in 2008 and was demolished in 2009 to make way for the Mets’ new home, Citi Field. Shea Stadium remains a beloved part of New York sports history.
