Shared Equity Program

A Shared Equity Program is a housing initiative designed to make homeownership more affordable. It allows buyers to purchase a home by sharing the cost with an investor, often a government or nonprofit organization. In this arrangement, the buyer pays a portion of the home’s price while the investor covers the remaining share. In return, the investor gains a percentage of the home’s appreciation when it is sold. This program aims to help individuals or families who may struggle to afford a home on their own, making it easier to enter the housing market.
