Shakuni's Sister (Gandhari)

Gandhari is a significant character in the Indian epic Mahabharata. She is the sister of Shakuni, known for his cunning and manipulative nature. Gandhari was married to Dhritarashtra, the blind king of Hastinapura, and she chose to blindfold herself as a gesture of solidarity with her husband. She is the mother of the Kauravas, the antagonists in the epic’s central conflict. Gandhari embodies themes of loyalty, sacrifice, and motherhood.
