Dhritarashtra is a key character from the Indian epic Mahabharata. He was the blind king of Hastinapur, ruling over the Kuru kingdom. Despite his blindness, he held significant influence, especially over his sons, the Kauravas. His inability to see physically symbolized his emotional bias and moral challenges, as he often struggled to make impartial decisions. Dhritarashtra's favoritism toward his son Duryodhana contributed to escalating tensions that eventually led to the great Kurukshetra war. His story highlights themes of duty, attachment, and the importance of unbiased leadership.
