Sesshin

Sesshin is a traditional Japanese Buddhist meditation retreat focused on intensive Zen practice. During sesshin, participants engage in multiple hours of seated meditation (zazen), walking meditation, chanting, and Dharma talks over several days. The purpose is to deepen concentration, mindfulness, and insight through disciplined practice and shared community. It also emphasizes silence and simplicity to foster inner stillness and awareness, helping practitioners connect more fully with their true nature and the present moment. Sesshin is both an individual spiritual endeavor and a communal experience, supporting growth in meditation and insight within a structured, supportive environment.
