Sergey Bubka

Sergey Bubka is a retired Ukrainian pole vaulter, widely regarded as one of the greatest athletes in the history of the sport. Competing primarily in the 1980s and 1990s, he set 35 world records in pole vaulting, many of which still stand. He became the first person to clear six meters in the event, a significant milestone. Bubka won the gold medal at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and dominated the World Championships, winning six titles. Beyond his athletic career, he has contributed to sports administration and development, serving in various leadership roles, including with the International Olympic Committee.
