Pole vaulting

Pole vaulting is an athletic event where a competitor uses a flexible pole to leap over a high bar. The athlete sprints down a runway, plants the pole into a box on the ground, and uses the pole’s flexibility to propel upward and over the bar. The goal is to clear the highest possible height without knocking the bar down. Success depends on speed, strength, technique, and timing. It's a combination of sprinting, precise pole handling, and aerial control, with judges measuring whether the athlete clears the bar without contact.
