Senator Richard Nixon
Richard Nixon was an American politician who served as the 37th President of the United States from 1969 to 1974. Before his presidency, he was a U.S. Senator from California and served as Vice President under Dwight D. Eisenhower. Nixon is known for his foreign policy achievements, including opening relations with China and détente with the Soviet Union. However, his presidency ended in scandal due to the Watergate affair, where he attempted to cover up a break-in at the Democratic National Committee headquarters. This led to his resignation, making him the first U.S. president to do so.
