Selective Repeat
Selective Repeat is a method used in data transmission to ensure that the information sent from one computer to another is received accurately. Instead of resending all data when an error occurs, only the specific packets (chunks of data) that weren’t received correctly are retransmitted. This makes the process more efficient because it saves time and bandwidth. The sender keeps track of which packets were received correctly and which weren't, allowing for a more targeted approach to correcting errors, ultimately improving the reliability and speed of data communication.
