Second Jewish Revolt

The Second Jewish Revolt, also known as the Bar Kokhba Revolt (132-136 CE), was a major Jewish uprising against Roman rule in Judea. Leading figure Simon Bar Kokhba mobilized Jews to reclaim their homeland after decades of Roman oppression. The revolt aimed to re-establish Jewish independence and standards of religious freedom. Despite initial successes, the Romans eventually crushed the rebellion, destroying many cities and temples. The aftermath led to increased Roman control, the banning of certain Jewish practices, and significant Jewish displacement, shaping the future Jewish diaspora and history.
