Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav
Sarvajanik Ganeshotsav is a public festival celebrated primarily in Maharashtra, India, honoring the Hindu deity Lord Ganesha, the elephant-headed god symbolizing wisdom and prosperity. Established in the late 19th century by Bal Gangadhar Tilak, the festival promotes community spirit and cultural unity. Over ten days, vibrant processions, music, dance, and various cultural activities take place, culminating in the immersion of giant clay idols in water bodies. This celebration not only fosters social connections and religious devotion but also serves as a platform for raising awareness about social issues and promoting collective efforts for community welfare.
