Salt production
Salt production typically involves extracting salt from salt-rich sources like seawater, underground salt deposits, or salt lakes. For seawater, the water is channeled into large evaporation ponds where sunlight and wind slowly evaporate the water, leaving behind salt crystals that are then collected, cleaned, and processed. In the case of underground deposits, the salt is mined similarly to minerals from the earth. Each method efficiently isolates pure salt, which is then refined to meet quality standards for industrial, culinary, or other applications. This process harnesses natural evaporation or mining techniques to produce the salt used globally.
