Saint John of Damascus, also known as Saint John Damascene, was an influential Christian theologian and philosopher in the 8th century. John served as a monk and priest in the monastery of Mar Sabas near Jerusalem and is recognized as a Doctor of the Church, highlighting his significant contributions to Christian doctrine and thought.
